ATLANTA OPERA-ATLANTA HISTORY CENTER SWAN HOUSE PATRON COCKTAIL PARTY

THE ENGAGEMENT

This is a cocktail party that The Atlanta Opera is throwing in conjunction with the Atlanta History Center to foster a synergy between the two organizations.  The Swan House is a beautifully preserved house from the 1920s and it is open to the public for visitors to see this replica of a certain time in Southern history.  There will be approximately 100 people in attendance, patrons of both the Atlanta History Center and the Atlanta Opera.  They will be cocktailing while you perform.   You will be behind the velvet ropes in the rooms – the audience will be outside of the “exhibit” rooms.

PERFORMANCE

All singers and violinists have prepared music to perform.  All will be dressed in period costumes from The Atlanta Opera archives.  We will need to alternate between upstairs and downstairs performers.  This will also encourage the guests to move about the house.  The singers will perform a number downstairs in the morning room, then the violinists will perform upstairs in the children’s room.  We’ll alternate like that until we run out of music or until 8:00 arrives – whichever comes first!!
