Maira Kalman is known as the beloved author of many books for children, but her art and projects extend in numerous directions.  In recent years, she has choreographed, created an installation with her son Alex Kalman called Sara Berman’s Closet that was exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and adult books of all descriptions including Strunk and White’s Illustrated Elements of Style and most recently Bold and Brave written by Kirsten Gillibrand on the history of the suffrage movement.
