MUSEUM OF TYROLEAN REGIONAL HERITAGE

The Museum of Tyrolean Regional Heritage in Innsbruck is one of the most beautiful of its kind in Europe. Situated immediately adjacent to the Court Church, Tyrolean Regional Heritage Museum’s comprehensive collection charting the history of the Tyrol makes it a gem of cultural history. The many-faceted museum has taken the theme ‘Pralles Jahr’ (Year Full to Bursting) to recreate the lavish festivals and celebrations. With the focus on the different phases inherent in life, ‘Prekäres Leben’ (Perilous Life) examines people’s cares and anxieties. The paneled parlours are a special feature, and further highlights are the historic Tyrolean costumes, and cribs and cots from the 18th century to the present day. A multimedia preview provides a good impression of the historical background to the Court Church and Emperor Maximilian I.
